The Geo Metro Convertible Was a Hilariously Pathetic 50-Horsepower Economy Car

Geo Metro review!!! The Geo Metro Convertible is a tiny convertible economy car with no frills and almost no power. Today I'm reviewing the Geo Metro Convertible, and I'll show you all the quirks and features of this little car. I'm also going to show you what it's like to drive the tiny Geo Metro, and I'll review the Geo Metro driving experience.

  • Not really seeing the "pathetic" here. Sure it's got a weak engine and it's a relatively tiny car, but honestly it's nice looking and it's a convertible. Even in a cool color. The tone is a touch snide. And since when is an actual key something worth making fun of? Cars had keys up to five minutes ago.

  • They will light the tires up in 1rst gear an u can bark all 5. Also 2 other points u can have flat tires on the car an not have to worry about damaging the rims tires will not squish flat.. An fun in the mud just about cant het stuck an if u do & have a passenger just pickup the front end an move it. An it will reach 90mph eventually

  • Dude, my first car was a Geo Metro! And this was in 2017! Just to add, owning her SUCKED cause she didn't have an A/C (had a heater tho!), had manual roll up windows, did 0-60 in enough time for my future kids to graduate college, no suspension, and was an absolute death trap in the making. That being said, she did very well getting me around, was SUPER cheap to top off and didn't guzzle gas, got me a lot of attention for sure, managed to get me from Washington to California during a snow storm in the grape vine that bogged down more powerful cars, and the best part...I got her suped up with a badass sound system and would drive her around *THUMPIN* ! 😂😂😂😂😂 it was a blast! I'd play Initial D music while cruising down lone roads, pretending like I was blazing past the scenery while my hearing was assaulted by the big ass bass in the trunk and the 8 inch speakers I got mounted in her door panels. I eventually junked her, but I will always have a soft spot for the Geo Metro as a result of my experience with her

  • Rich young guy. Firstly driver airbags were mandatory at this time unless there were auto seatbelts… which of course both suck, and don’t go in convertibles. Second. The “features “ or lac thereof were pretty typical of non premium cars back then. Only things like oldsmobiles had power mirrors and not infrequently were the manual ones truly manual… Compare another 89 and it’ll look pretty standard… or at least as standard as comparing any mitsubishi/Suzuki to other cars of the same model year. Also… I’ve had a few convertibles and they didn’t come with separate convertibles. I’ve also had wagons of sedan versions etc… my vw manual covered cabriolet, golf and Jetta in that year. I guess his Bugatti manuals are more fancy

It is a car fit for Barcelona, The French and Italian Riviera, Malibu, Athens, Mikonos, The Canary Islands, Jamaica, the Bahamas, Key West, Maybe Carmel or Seattle or Chicago on a hot day but it ends there. it was a car for the hairdressers in the 90's like the Mini was the car for real estate vendors in Europe. It was perfect for a sunny weekend away from town, two Duffel bags in the trunk and a vanity case behind the seats. But the blue ones are extremely rare as most were sold in Red, then Black and Yellow little anecdote : (first of all I'm gay and so where my friends) One of my friends had an accident and his best friend, the most flamboyant of all, arrives at the scene for moral support in a red Suzuki Swift convertible. the former was in camp hysterics (I kid you not, it was the full cliché gay going to pieces because he ran into another car) while the owner of the Swift said ; "Stop these hysterics, people will think I'm gay" decked out in full Versace 90's style, long nails and high heels!!

He was "green" long before it became popular to do so and he drove it because it was inexpensive to buy, paid for, had nearly 400K miles with basic maintenance and got 50MPG highway and 40 city. That car literally cost pennies to drive and never left him stranded. He always said he'd sell it if it broke down on him. I wouldn't be surprised if he still had it.
